2023 Week 3: Beauty Brand and Product Launches

Three weeks into the year and the polarizing celebrity brand launches are back, this time with John Legend embracing melanin skincare through his new brand Loved01. Playboy, after pulling its magazine from stands in 2020, has finally launched a long-awaited collection of sex toy offerings, and Starface has added another playful addition to its viral skin patch offerings. Here’s what else has happened in beauty this week:RETAILColourPop officially hits the shelves of Target after testing the waters last November with a holiday collection of bestsellers. The brand, known for affordable pricing and covetable limited editions, will launch 120 stock-keeping units online and in-store at Target starting on January 29. The brand has been sold at Ulta since 2018.French eco-friendly nail polish brand Kure Bazaar expands its US footprint with a 130-square-foot shop-in-shop, offering services and its more than 200 stock-keeping units in Saks Fifth Avenue's New York City flagship store. The brand is also considering expansion to Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.Founder and formulator Patricia Vernhes of Ayurvedic wellness brand Mojave Desert Skin Shield opened her first location in 2021. She is now opening a second space in Palm Springs and relaunching her product line with a launch at Le Bon Marché’s wellness department in Paris.Launched three years ago by Jordan Karim, Flora & Noor will be the first halal-certified brand to be sold at Ulta Beauty, launching online on January 22. The brand is also available at Thirteen Lune and on Amazon.Hair health brand Nutrafol is set to enter Sephora later this month, marking its biggest retail expansion to date.
